Production of Plastic Handcuffs Project Description

Plastic handcuffs are forms of physical restraints for the hands using plastic straps. They function as hand cuffs but are cheaper, disposable and easier to carry than the metal handcuffs. Their low cost and light weight make them popular with police and military forces when large number of arrests are anticipated during riots, demonstrations and anti-insurgency operations. Disposable Plastic handcuffs also reduce the possibility of disease transmission through reuse. This project aims to locally produce plastic handcuffs for law enforcement applications.

Objectives

i. Develop the technology for plastic handcuffs production and domesticate the technology for national economic development.
ii. Enhance the ability of law enforcement agencies to maintain law and order.
iii. Utilize locally available petrochemical raw materials.
iv. Create employment
